HOW TO START YOUR CODING EXPERIENCE- and make money from it!

Hello, friend. This is going to be a great ride so I advise that you get a jotter or get ready to bookmark some tweets.

This is not in anyway the only way to learn how to code- there are many ways to kill a rat...
A friend of mine reached out to me weeks ago. Her name is Helen.

She decided to go into programming as she felt she would really love to build a career from a very promising field and reached out

Guess the first question I asked her?

how serious about you on a scale of 1-100?
Likewise, if you won't be serious with coding but just need the information you won't use, please just retweet it to help a serious soul and leave this thread.

Now, Helen has started learning how to code and the last time we spoke, she said it's exciting!
Better than school work
Please do not misinterpret. School has helped to educate the mind a bit, but many people do not realize the need to learn a lot of skills outside school.
They invested a lot in school education and behave like robots.

Now back to the subject topic, HOW CAN YOU REALLY GET STARTED
Learning to code takes time. While plenty of people have a natural flair for it, there's a lot of elbow grease required for others.
Knowing how to code is a really valuable skill that could end up making you a lot of money.
In fact, there are tons of ways to make money with code
So. How can you start coding?

2. Start with a deep passion to understand coding.
If you set your mind to do something and defy the odds, you'd certainly get it done. DECIDE that you'd be a good programmer, no matter how long or what it takes in the process...
1. I intentionally put number 2 first to make you curious.
The first question you need to answer if you want to be a great coder is 'Why do I want to learn how to code?'
Take a few minutes or hours to think about the REAL reasons why you want to learn programming. Not everyone..
would be a programmer. So why do you want to learn?
Be honest with yourself. Are you looking to make a big career change? To create the next BIG app?
This is quite important as your answer would help determine which programming language(s) you would need to master. It would...
Also save you time and money.
Now, moving on to number THREE..
3. Choose the right programming language
Once you figure out why you really want to code, it becomes very easy to pick a language. For example, those interested in Data Science would need Python or Julia or a similar.
Language as they support a lot of data analytics libraries.
Another example- if you want to create a badass alternative to Photoshop or Lightroom, you would find C++ very handy..
Mobile app makers would love to learn React Native (for cross platform apps) or my new found love- Flutter with Dart, or learn Java for Android and swift for iOS, and so on.

BASICALLY,
knowing what you want to be making would save you months of learning 'useless' stuffs..
4. Learn the right way.

This is the main focus.
What's the right way?

I've been coding for up to 4 years. Or 6 years (if you would regard HTML and CSS as languages 😂). But really, I'd usually say I have 2 years experience.

Why? I wasted a lot of time because I tried ...
Learning the wrong way.
Before I show you how best to learn, let me list THE WRONG METHODS OF LEARNING PROGRAMMING:
1. Buying online courses you aren't going to be serious with
2. Playing Udemy videos
3. Watching YouTube programming channels
4. Copy and pasting complete codes..
