I've never opted to go after 'journalists' for their shit work, i.e. reporting which promotes NGO fascists in Bolivia, but I should be reminded that freelancing whites receive for 1 article more than I make in a month, so that they can aid in the destruction of our continent
with such incentives, no wonder they rush to the opportunity to aid in the neoliberal pillage and plunder of the Americas. It's bourgeois media terrorism and they should be publicly exposed for their contribution
from my own experience and those near me, one cannot make a living covering latin america from the perspective of the people invested in struggles against imperialism. anyone who's paid to do this work, appearing in major publications/receiving MSM airtime must be scrutinized
the claim 'independent' (journalist/media) avoids all detail of where these actors/outlets derive funding or the fact that they're employed squarely for their record of supporting hegemonic narratives in articles and guest appearances. that's not independence.
all of the most critical work on this continent in English/ for an international audience is done as an initiative by people who care enough to do it while juggling many things.. and despite never-ending attacks by fascists. its not glamorous, its tiring and barely unsustainable.
anyway the ask here is that people like this never write again
