Something we don't talk about is how not only YouTuber's content has an extremely racist past (and present for that matter), audiences also ATE THAT SHIT UP.

It's not right, it was wrong then and wrong now, but we the viewers are not absolved in this dilemma.
We need to seriously focus in on ourselves. What kind of things was I supporting back then? What kinds of creators was I NOT supporting (for good or bad).

Personally I think I did my best, but my viewership voting record is not fucking clean.
And TODAY: who am I watching now? Who am I subscribed to? Why? How are you voting with your view to influence the influencer?

For example, I try not to watch trending drama videos because I think the drama cycle is dumb and it doesn't deserve to take up space in my brain.
Deplatforming is a final solution to curb a toxic message. If these issues are truly systemic, we should be focusing just as much or MORE on how we as viewers can help stop these bad messages from growing in the first place. Restorative justice, just like we preach elsewhere.
