Alright face out take a knee
#REDsREADYROOM shit huh? Lets talk long guns. There is a myriad of options, but lets go into the AR platform. Now we can talk, barrels, ballistics, tolerances. But for this lets keep it simple and think about, an all around, battle rifle, non-pistol,

non-SBR. Ill go, back to front talk options and talk gucci vs shelf ready.
Stock, there is an insane amount of stocks on the web. For a all around gun i look for ones with surface area for your shoulder. Enough positions to collapse it if i need it in a vehicle...

and long enough that i can ratchet it down into my shoulder at full length. My ideal stocks have been between VLTOR, Magpul and CBC precision.
Buffer tube, normally they are a dine a dozen. But know if you are running a mil spec vs commercial thereâs really no difference...

Milspec however has more options
What matters is what goes IN the buffer tube. Some dudes say the spring/piston dont matter. They arent wrong in that, you can buy a kit from Geissele or Larue or Aero and be perfectly fine. In FACT if you just want a regular buffer, Aero has....

A great kit as well. However if you want to take the SPROING noise out of the tube. Get a captured buffer piston. JP industry makes on that is adjustable and it changes felt recoil, tube noise and is very nice with a supressor.
Upper and lower bodies. People get bitchy about brands. And there is about a million memes you see about what tier is what. The best i can tell you is, find a good manufacturer, buy a matched set if you can.
Aero has amazing kits and is fairly cheap. Larue as well, and you honestly cant beat the price for their quality. I would say Noveske is near the top. Pretty expensive but well worth the quality manufacturing.
BOLT, one of the REAL three things that make a good gun for me. Whatever you do, dont cheap out on this. Lantac, BCM, ranier arms, Aero, and Faxon are all awesome choices. Prices vary, but any ine of those brands you really cant go wrong.
Barrels, the SECOND of the three. Length isnt a debate i want to dance around, but lets say non-SBR legal, or get the brake pinned. But brands for barrels are Faxon, ranier arms, FN, Noveske. Right now i have Faxon and Ranier and they work awesome. Chamber them in .223 wyld!!
Triggers, so 3rd of the important pieces. This is where it gets expensive and pays off the more you pay. Geissele makes some of the best two stage triggers, CMC makes an awesome single stage with a flat face. Outside of Jeweled and Geissele tier, you can buy a milspec....
Trigger and be fine.
I wont go into handguards or brakes unless you have a specific question because the population on those are insane and too broad for me. But ask. I love geissele and CMC personally.
So what to put in it. For most folks if its not a red dot like....

an Aimpoint or an EOTECH. You can run LPVO like votex, leupold or trijicon.
I would also get a white light, now hereâs where i suck....all i know is surefire. Its all ive ever used and its always worked for me.

Slings. Ferro concepts slingster, Haley strategic rifle sling, VTAC all make awesome stuff. Im really particular about how i run slings so i try to get ones with quality stitching and are TWO POINT.
Alright. That was all a mouthful. What else?
The more i think about it, the more i realize how nerded out i am on ARs. Barrels vs gas tube lengths vs ammo vs brakes. Its all a lot of shit. If you start here in the shallow end it hells once you go deeper
