Weak men are upset @ TMC, but the truth hurts.
I know an angry man who shot the family dog.
& 1 who said, “I wouldn’t kill [my ex who I divorced 10 years ago & is now happy] with a gun, either. I’d do it with my bare hands, strangling her, so she’ll have to look me in the eye.” https://twitter.com/tressiemcphd/status/1277110577832382468

Thank @steak_umm these behaviors aren’t typical, but they’re also not all that rare.
When the man in the hotel hot tub fantasized about murdering his long-gone ex for daring to be happy, no one* challenged him. Dudes were like “yeah no shit, right.”
*i did, but not effectively

When a guy is complaining about his ex or about someone else who they think wronged them, a bro will often chime in and say,
“I have a 25 cent cure for that.”
Sometimes it’s 50 cents, sometimes it’s 10 cents; but it’s always referring to the price of a bullet.

I’ve probably heard that comment 20 times over the past year, but not once did I hear a guy suggest therapy or something else adaptive to his male friend. Granted, that might happen in a more intimate context.
But can we stop normalizing this abuse talk, even as “just a joke”?
