Jesus Christ. You don't refute a 'claim' by Rowling. You consider the evidence of male perpetrated violence consistent with stats; therapeutic & safeguarding needs of females in certain context & evolution of equality law exemptions for same.
This persistence of framing the granting rights fought for one group as being in direct opposition to another is willfully irresponsible. There is no consideration or compassion given to these specific contexts from anyone shouting this down as a 'denial' of rights.
Not a word of compassion for women & children in refuges & prisons. Their existing rights are not for anyone to give away. Insistence that trans women are women in every possible context is failing reason & need to reconcile rights & responsibilities. This is so irresponsible.
The possibility of some middle ground of understanding elusive as ever. The naive belief that maybe just one some one would say 'I'm not sure this is straight forward' or 'Look, lads, these women aren't about hate, let's listen for a minute' or 'the problem is male violence'.
And it doesn't matter how much sympathy & understanding and willing to work in coalition to ensure the safety & dignity of everyone, we are still ridiculed & dehumanised & still we maintain our composure and sincerity in the face of this brutality. It's soul crushingly awful.
I can see the vitriol. I never doubted the sincere motivations of people but I can't bear the unjust dismantling of our humanity before our eyes. We are not divided by some luck of good or evil. Stop it. Just stop it. Show some consideration. Show these women some respect. Please
