I'm a final-year PhD, and I want to frame myself as an 'open academic':
- publish in open access journals
- share my underlying data
- use open source software.
Anyone done this? Any tips for how to defend this as a stance and a methodology in my thesis? @AcademicChatter

Quick caveat: I understand this isn't always possible, especially when you're not first author and when you're an ECR, but would like to maintain it as a goal.
This is a good example of why publications should be open access - to support independent researchers or those in universities that don't have the funds for high subscriptions https://twitter.com/IndigoWayworth/status/1277275694364536833?s=19
