Thread – To Woke, or Not to Woke; That is the Question

1. “Wokeness” is nothing but cultural Marxism run rampant. Sorry, but “sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” And if they “hurt you,” then you’re a miserable snowflake SOB.
2. The goal of cultural Marxism is to undermine and drastically change traditional American culture. That includes, among other things, expunging Judeo-Christianity completely from American life.
3. Wokeness is a form of political correctness that is one tactic exploited by cultural Marxists and leftists of every stripe to control political dialog and terminology while isolating and punishing those who adhere to traditional values.
4. For example, #Dementiacrat governors continue to claim that public health issues associated with the ChiCom virus greatly outweigh the religious freedoms enshrined in the 1st Amendment. One has to be “woke” to the fact that religious gatherings spread the virus, don’t ya know?
5. In the unlikely event you’re not familiar with the term, here is how Wikipedia puts it. (Yeah, Wikipedia can be a suspect source, but when they post entries on leftwing political stuff, they usually “speak from the heart.”)
5A. Woke (/ˈwoʊk/) as a political term of African-American origin refers to a perceived awareness of issues concerning social justice and racial justice.
5B. It is derived from the African-American Vernacular English expression "stay woke", whose grammatical aspect refers to a continuing awareness of these issues.
5C. By the late 2010s, woke had been adopted as a more generic slang term broadly associated with left-wing politics, socially liberal causes, feminism, LGBT activism, and cultural issues (with the terms woke culture and woke politics also being used).
5D. It has been the subject of memes, ironic usage and criticism from some commentators. Its widespread use since 2014 is a result of the Black Lives Matter movement.
5E. [In the Age of Trump,] "woke" had taken to indicate "healthy paranoia, especially about issues of racial and political justice" and has been adopted as a more generic slang term and has been the subject of memes.
5F. For example, MTV News identified it as a key teen slang word for 2016. In The New York Times Magazine, Amanda Hess raised concerns that the word has been culturally appropriated, writing, "The conundrum is built in.
5G. When white people aspire to get points for consciousness, they walk right into the crosshairs between allyship and appropriation."

6. Like in all revolutions, eventually “the vanguard of the revolution” – even cultural revolutions – gets overtaken and consumed by the rabble. Or, in some cases, the greater population returns to some semblance of normality and an associated values structure.
7. With all the unchecked rioting and “autonomous zones” B.S. popping up in #Dementiacrat-controlled cities, have we finally reached the point that the BLM crowd have been finally unmasked ….
7A. …. as the criminal anarchists that many of us have always known but have been too cowed to directly confront?
8. Possibly there is a critical mass of Americans ready to divest themselves bigly of woke culture, including all the PC nonsense that goes with it along with the violent wing of leftists who are its street enforcers.
9. It has always puzzled me that the breakdown of traditional American culture has been driven by the black minority of Americans, whether it was the harmless “revolutionary” adoption of jazz music during the Roaring Twenties, ….
9A. … the disintegration of the American family and associated single-parent families, denigration of women in the hip-hop culture, black separatism in the 1960s (a forerunner of today’s BLM/Antifa anarchists), or modern “wokeness” that transcends black culture.
10. But mayhap, wokeness hasn’t quite jumped the shark yet. The recent use of “Latinx” as a gender-neutral way to describe Mexican descendants et al makes me ponder why the BLM wokers have not sought similar privilege.
11. I mean, why not refer people descending from former slaves as Negrx or Black Amerix? Better yet, X-Negros or Black X-Americans.
12. The PC word policy rulers have fallen so deep into the septic tank of life that it has become impossible differentiating them from the real turds.
13. As for me, I am possibly the least-woke person in America. Wanna take a bet on that? I’ll give you one example. I refuse to use the word “gay” to describe homosexuals, as it was a word contrived in the 1960s to legitimize and mainstream (v., sic) that behavior.
14. Words have meaning, and perversion of the English language to service leftist political goals is a travesty to be fought with every fiber of my being. Thus, my answer to the question posed in the title of this thread is “not to woke,” thank you very much.
