I did a little research on the courses of corruption in Nigeria's justice and judicial system. The result was shocking to even me the researcher.
But i will summarize.

Thread...

It was late President Umaru Musa Yar'adua, Who last increased the salaries of judges 13 years ago.
Judges in Nigeria were grossly under paid during the military era, because their services meant little or nothing to the military. But after the military handed over power in 1999, former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2002, approved an upward review of their salaries.
When late President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua came in 2007, he also approved an upward review of the salaries and allowances of judges in Nigeria, in order to drive home his rule of law policy.
Since 2007 till date, no Kobo has been added to their salaries, whereas politicians keep allocating jumbo pay to themselves and their cronies. Not withstanding the fact that Nigerian judges are still grossly under paid, compared to their counterparts across the world.
By my findings, judgments in Nigeria is reserved for the highest bidder, or the most connected. It will be easier for the camel to pass through the eyes of a needle, than for an ordinary Nigerian, who has no money or connection, to get a fair hearing and favourable judgement.
It might interest you to know that, the chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN takes home an annual salary of N3,353,972.50 or a monthly salary N279,497.71
And other members of the Supreme Court, including the President of the Court of Appeal, go home with an annual salary of N2,477,110 or a monthly salary of N206,425.83
The Justices of the Court of Appeal, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court & President of the Industrial Court, Grand Khadi of State & FCT Sharia Court of Appeal, President FCT & State Customary Court of Appeal, earn
The sum of N1,995,430.18 each annually, or a monthly salary of N166,290.01
Also, judges of the Federal, State & FCT High Courts, National Industrial Court, Khadi Sharia Court of Appeal in the FCT and State; and FCT & State Customary Courts also earn
The sum of N1,804,740 each annually, or a monthly salary N150,395

Whereas a single Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, takes home N156,000,000 annually, or N13,000,000 monthly according to Senator Shehu Sani. That's one of the heights of injustice, and salary disparity.
Comparing what Nigerian judges earn, with their counterparts across the world. For instance, in the United State of America (USA), while the Chief Justice earns $255,500 (or N118, 807,500) per year, the eight associate justices earn a healthy pay raise to $244,400 (N113, 646,000)
The President of the Supreme Court, Lord Chief Justice of Northern Ireland, Lord President of the Court of Session & Master of the Rolls, are on the salary scale of £214,165 (N128,070,670), below only the Lord Chief Justice of England & Wales, who earns £239,845 (N143,427,310).
In South Africa, judges in the high and labour courts earn annual salaries of R1.4-million (or N46.9million). Judge-presidents (heads of court) pocket R1.6million (N53.6million) a year, Constitutional and Supreme Court judges get R1.7-million (N56.9million)
And the chief justice earns R2.3-million (N77million). The package of the president of the Supreme Court is just over R2million a year.

It will also interest you to know that the entire Nigeria, can only boast of a little above 1,060 judges nationwide. Unlike other countries.
Less than 260 federal judges, and less than 830 judges hired by the 36 states of the federation. But all judges in Nigeria, get their salaries and allowances through the National Judicial Commission (NJC).
Outside corruption, or judgments for sale. The only legitimate means through which Nigerian judges make extra money, is through election petition tribunal. The reason we always witness a near collapse of our courts, during election petition tribunals. Every judge wants to partake
On a final note, in 2019 all 1067 judges in Nigeria, got N8.7 billion for their annual salary and allowances. N2.3 billion for 248 federal judges, and N6.4 for 819 judges of the 36 states in the federation.
Whereas, in the same year of 2019, 469 members of the National Assembly of Nigeria, got a whooping sum of N24billion as severance package. Despite a senator taking home N156 million annually, individually for 4 years. Which amounts to N624 million for each senator.
