The day in between. With #IndependentBookshopWeek over and shops in Scotland open from tomorrow, here is a personal route around some of my favourite #independentbookshops in #Scotland.
One happy place for me is @picaresquebooks in Dingwall. Bookshop & Gallery & SO FRIENDLY!

I have very fond memories of @BookmarkMarjory, a fab bookshop in #Grantown. I first met Marjory through a festival for historical fiction she organised. @LindsayLittleson and were there for the children's events and I LOVED it!
Another absolute fave is @HighlandBks in #FortWilliam where I visit whenever I can. I love the warmth and enthusiasm of the team, especially of the manager Sarah Louise who took me to a vegan fair the day I visited! I had great fun!
It was my great honour to work with the team at @EdinBookshop for an event in @SMorningsidePS last year, and I visited the bookshop, but FORGOT to beg them to let me sign the ladder. It's a gorgeous space with sooo many great books!
I NEVER pass the A9 exit to Dornoch without stopping at the lovely Dornoch Bookshop. They have been so supportive to me and to my knowledge were the very first shop to create a window display around my first book, Fir for Luck. I'll be forever grateful.
@TheCeilidhPlace and #UllapoolBookshop are both excellent places to shop and to browse in #Ullapool. I tend to buy something from both, especially at @UllapoolBookFes time! I have been so grateful for their support from the start.
Finally, the #Inverness book world would be SO much poorer without #LeakeysBookshop, my all-time-favourite second hand bookshop and first stop for research. If I feel fed up and take an afternoon to browse there and I'm all set. Highly recommended!
