Very interested that Pep has gotten Juanma Lillo as his new assistant manager. He's the person, after Cryuff, that Pep has learned football from and been influenced by the most. Pep went to play in Mexico just so he could learn from Lillo and be ready to become a coach.
Lillo is the most extreme example of someone who may have the most amazing tactical understanding of the game but who has struggled to make it as a top manager because of his limitations in getting his ideas across and having players implement them on the pitch.
With Lillo there as an assistant, Guardiola will now have a tactical problem-solver of the highest level, and it seems the two will make a lethal pairing.
Unfortunately for them the Reds are absolutely boss and they'll need to put up one hell of a fight to dethrone the champions. But I expect Pep to come at us all guns blazing, and then some.
Next season will probably be the most interesting for the neutral since 2016/17, when Pep, Conte, Jose, Klopp all had their first full seasons. Apart from Liverpool and City going at it, we'll have United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs all trying to kick on. Let's see what happens.
Oh and there's the small matter of a certain Marcelo Bielsa coming to the Premier League. I'm already excited!!
