Stop fading Todd Gurley. A thread.
Let's start with the bad news first.

Gurley has a severe knee injury. He tore his ACL during his Junior year at Georgia and he know has arthritis in his knee.
Last season Gurley finished as the RB14 in 15 games.

If you were to take his FPPG average he would have finished as the RB12, so as an RB1.
Yes, Gurley has a knee injury but his dip in production is more so because of the OL.

The Rams went from having one of the best OL in the league in 2017-2018 to one of the worst in 2019.
"The offensive line was a strength of the Los Angeles Rams’ NFC champion team in 2018, but that changed in a hurry this season. Injuries, shuffling pieces and declining play from players who performed well last season — such as Rob Havenstein — resulted in a pass-blocking unit
that allowed a pressure rate four percentage points higher than it did a season ago despite Jared Goff getting rid of the football significantly faster on average and running play action at one of the highest rates in the NFL.
Given how much Goff relies on a clean pocket, improving the group up front will be a priority heading into 2020."

- Per PFF, the Rams have the 31st ranked OL heading into the 2020 season. Have fun Cam Akers.
Gurley's average YBC in 2019 was 2.2, which ranked 22nd in the league.

Gurley averaged 10.6 attempts per broken tackle. That was better than Ekeler, Barkley, Sanders, CMC, Cook, Ingram, Mixon and Zeke.
Gurley also had 21 broken tackles. Again, better than everyone listed above.

Per NFL Next Gen Stats Gurley was the 3rd most efficient RB in the league this past season.

He also saw 8+ defenders in the box 25% of the time, which was 15th overall int he league.
Gurley finished as the RB1 in 2017 and the RB3 in 2018.

Are you worried about Gurley missing games? Don't be.

Gurley has missed a total of 4 games in the last 4 years.
Atlanta has a very underrated OL. They will be returning 4/5 with the potential of all 5 being returning starters from 2019.

Continuity is very important when it comes to cohesiveness and chemistry along the offensive line.
Jake Matthews was rated as the 3rd best left tackle in 2019, while Alex Mack was listed as the 2nd best center of the last decade, per PFF.

Chris Lindstrom is a stud and Kaleb McGary excelled as a run blocker in 2019.
According to @DLFootball Gurley's current ADP is RB20.

That is ridiculous for a 25 year old running back that has barely missed time the last 4 years.
Quinn and Dimitroff are on the hot seat and Gurley is on a one year prove it deal. Gurley will carry the load in a very explosive offense.

Gurley only had 33 less carries in 2019 than he did in 2018. Do not be worried about the knee.
Take the discount while you can and ride him to the championship in your leagues this season.
