U.S. Must Release Children From Family Detention Centers, Judge Rules

The order, which cited the severity of the coronavirus pandemic, applies to children held in the nation’s three family detention centers for more than 20 days.

The federal judge’s order requires @DHSgov to release children by July 17th if they have been held in ICE family detention centers for over 20 days. This deadline is NOT an excuse to release children separately from their parents while parents remain detained. #FreeThemAll
. @ICEgov can very much release children to the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which houses unaccompanied minors who come to the US without their parents, and still comply with the ruling. This CANNOT happen. They must be freed together! #LiberenATodxs #FreeThemAll #AbolishICE
