the amount the community has contributed to cringe culture and labeling Completely Unhelpful and Useless feedback as ''constructive criticism'' is insane. its actually so sad to see young artists/animators constantly berate themselves out of fear of what comments they might get https://twitter.com/SleepinqS/status/1276477289849552896
like first of all constructive criticism is supposed to be... constructive. things such as ''add more frames lol'' or ''get better at drawing anatomy'' is so infuriating to see imo because those comments Literally Doesnt Tell the Artist Anything they dont already know
second of all this whole idea that every video you make has to be this masterpiece with a deep story and flawless art/animation has made so many young kids, who naturally wont be fucking picasso, constantly berate themselves on every post they make and contributes to a toxic-
-attitude towards their own art which can seriously impact how they develop artistically. in order to develop you need to make mediocre content to... improve. test out new things. all discouraging that does is lead to these kids being afraid to go outside their comfort zone-
- and can srsly inhibit their courage to post content online, something which is very valuable if you want to be able to make money out of art in the future. you need to have the courage to put yourself out there.
DAS IT FOR MY RANT but this just bothers me A Lot. im soo glad that i was generally encouraged as a young artist even though i drew the cringe marey soue oh sees that would certainly be berated today in this kind of environment
