Life Lessons from Children

Lessons can be learnt from any corner.

You only have to keep your eyes and ears open.

One of the biggest sources of learning for me has been children.

Here’s a thread about what I’ve learnt.
1. Always Curious

Children are infinite reservoirs of curiosity.

They never get tired of asking questions. No matter how simple they are.

We can take a leaf from this and stay curious; asking questions may sound stupid, but unless you do there will be able no progress.
2. Unconditional Love

They love for the sake of love.

There are no conditions - no ifs and buts involved here.

This is perhaps why they are loved by everyone.

When you give unconditionally you receive unconditionally too.
3. Perseverance

No matter how many times they fail at something, they keep getting back up and starting over again.

Its not about how many times you fall, but getting back up again after every fall.

Adopt the never say die attitude.

It keeps you going.
4. Independent Thinking

They have their own views about things & don’t accept the consensus easily.

Our thoughts have been conditioned by the thoughts of parents, teachers, university, society, friends, etc.

We need to spend more time thinking alone.
5. Innocence

This is a quality which we observe only in young kids.

There are no hidden motives behind their thoughts and acts.

They are pure.

Holding no ulterior motives/ grudges frees you from unnecessary mental stress.

By holding the grudge it is you who is suffering.
6. Creativity

Look at single kids. They are able to keep themselves engaged by making up games/ activities without anyone else.

We can take a step back from our chaotic lives & focus on simple things - write a note, pot a plant or cook.

There's joy in creating. Embrace it.
I’m sure there’s a lot more that children could teach us.

We need to be ready to learn.
