Ugh this is such a messy topic to bring up but... I think I'm going to temper my expectations for SA/FS.

I love Gintama and I try to not let others affect my opinion, but I think the constant hype can get to me at times.

This is not me saying that Gintama is overrated or that -
I was disappointed or that the fans/my mutuals should be more quiet.

The biggest reason is that almost all of Gintama's biggest arcs and moments rely on emotional connection. I value writing a lot (*my* values in writing, this isn't an objective/subjective thing) and I -
personally don't think that Gintama has *exceptional* writing especially when compared to my other 9s/favourites. Obviously there is nothing wrong with that since Gintama executes this style of storytelling very well but the issue comes from how others portray these arcs as -
peak storytelling or any of the "peak fiction" variations where I don't really agree with at all. It gives me a wrong impression on how Gintama wants to execute it's story and therefore, my enjoyment is affected.
I also want to make it clear that this is NOBODY'S fault at all. It's a very personal issue that I've always had.

Gintama is still an 8.5-9/10, it's still a favourite, and I'm still very excited for what's to come. I'm just proceeding with more caution than before.
