🌟 🌟 🌟 We are continuing our search for talented u24 Goalkeepers, today will be a focus on Predrag Rajkovic 🇷🇸, Gautier Larsonneur 🇫🇷, and Luis Maximiano 🇵🇹 🌟 🌟 🌟
Name: Predrag Rajkovic 🇷🇸
Team: Reims
Age: 24
Height: 192 cm
Clean Sheets: 12
Rajkovic has had an outstanding season, the Serb has been a big part of Reims’ defensive success along with Abdelhamid and Axel Disasi.
Rajkovic has the best post shot expected goals - goals conceded of any keeper in the league with +8.4, highlighting the Serbs great shot stopping ability, like all the keepers in this thread, he has great reflexes and has made huge contributions to the team. (chart)
Statified Football’s graphic shows us how well Rajkovic has performed, ranking above the median on all these metrics.

Rajkovic has also saved 4 out of 5 penalties this season! https://twitter.com/statifiedf/status/1251491090764632064
Rajkovic defends the near post well, he has good positioning and is light on his feet which allows him to adjust his positioning fast as well as get down well to low shots.
Rajkovic is used to building up from the back at Reims. His passing is generally very sound, he can play chipped passes to the full backs and is comfortable under pressure while not taking too many risks.
He also has a decent left foot, he has used it 15% of the time which is fairly high. In comparison, Larsonneur uses his left foot 4% for his passing. This is an underrated ability to possess and will help him when under pressure.
Rajkovic does not have what I would call elite handling, he has had one or two issues with long distance shots which were spilled into dangerous areas. Evidence of this is below https://twitter.com/vidzdefutbol/status/1276519021886738434
He is fairly dominant from crosses and has good control of the area though he sometimes shows hesitation leaving him in no mans land. Uncertainty like this can wreak havoc if the defence lose trust in your decision making.

Below is a highlights reel of Rajkovic’s saves https://twitter.com/vidzdefutbol/status/1276518224096636928
Name: Gautier Larsonneur 🇫🇷
Team: Stade Brestois
Age: 23
Height: 181 cm
Clean sheets: 7

Larsonneur has been hugely impressive for Brest, he has been a fundamental part of the team’s survival since their promotion in 2018-19.
The Frenchman is very agile and light on his feet, he has explosive cat like reflexes and is always ready to spring into action via a save or to come out of goal to smother or intercept. He is small with a slender frame, though like Casillas, this is not a huge problem.
Parrying is Larsonneur’s preferred method, the Frenchman does not have bad handling but opts for this style, likewise from crosses he looks to punch rather than catch.
Larsonneur has been an outstanding shot stopper, he ranks 3rd in Ligue 1 for PSxG - goals allowed with +8.2. This highlights him as one of the best this season at preventing high quality chances from becoming goals. https://twitter.com/locatelliloco/status/1254070961227399168
Unlike Rajkovic who has had one of the best defences in front of him, Larsonneur has had to face the 4th most shots on target this season, making the 3rd most amount of saves. Here are some of his best moments 👇👇👇 https://twitter.com/vidzdefutbol/status/1276529537505988608
In terms of distribution, Brest play out of the back so playing shorter passes and chips out wide is something Larsonneur has become accustomed to. He ranks 4th highest for fewest launched goal kicks and has made the 2nd most passes of any goalkeeper this season.
The biggest concern that has been raised is his size and strength which puts him at a disadvantage from crosses and high claims. He has struggled on ocassions and he sometimes, like Rajkovic, misreads crosses and finds himself in no mans land.
Having said that the stats suggest he’s been very good from crosses. He has faced the most crosses into the box of any other ligue 1 keeper but still has a “claim success rate” which ranks him in the 75th percentile ahead of Alisson, Dubravka, Leno, Guaita, Henderson and more...
@FootballSlices have a great feature which allows us to compare players, here we have Rajkovic and Larsonneur...
(Larsonneur is the black line), the two are very similar, both great goalkeepers who have had exceptional seasons
Name: Luís Maximiano 🇵🇹
Team: Sporting CP
Age: 21
Height: 187 cm
Clean Sheets: 8

Despite only playing 16 times this season with his debut in December 2019, Maximiano has staked his claim for the starting position at Sporting ahead of Renan Ribeiro
Maximiano has excellent handling, and hand eye coordination, he cushions the ball into his chest and rarely spills. He possesses excellent reflexes and agility making a number of spectacular saves. He also has strong wrists and a great ability to get down fast to low shots.
He is great in 1v1 situations, he has a burst of pace and is very brave, throwing himself at opponents feet, making himself as big as possible and putting them off. He has excellent speed and reading of play to make interceptions and reduce goal scoring angles... 👇👇 https://twitter.com/vidzdefutbol/status/1276544414438096898
He covers his near post exceptionally well, though perhaps a little too much leaving the far post too exposed at times... Here he has the defender blocking the near post already, if he had one more step to the right he would have been in a better position to protect both posts
His distribution is slightly weak, Sporting do not play out of the back too much and he is clearly lacking confidence on the ball. His kicking from dead balls is good but from open play it looks rushed and awkward.
I decided to rank in my opinion all 3 keepers on these attributes, they are all great keepers so this was tough. Maximiano has the least experience so there’s still hopefully a lot more of him to come, all 3 would be great value shot stoppers though none are elite ball players...
