Swearing and using bad words today has become the norm amongst us Muslim that it’s not even seen as sinning rather it had become part of our everyday language. Subhanallah and it’s sad how we engage in sinning daily but not repenting from it.
Allah ﷻ says in the Quran:
“And the example of a bad word is like a bad tree, uprooted from the surface of the earth, not having any stability.”
[14:26]

Below are 2 points to help try and quit swearing and usage of bad language:
1- Make Niyah (intention) that you leaving it for the sake of Allah ﷻ
Remember When you leave something for the sake of Allah ﷻ , in return he ﷻ will replace it with something even better.

2- Whenever you swear immediately after say “la ilaha illa allah” or any other similar Dhikr that counts as a hasanah (good deed);
eg. “Subhanallah”, “alhamdulillah”, “allahu akbar”, “la howla wala quwwata ila Billah”, “allahuma salli a’la Rasoolillah”.
eg. “Subhanallah”, “alhamdulillah”, “allahu akbar”, “la howla wala quwwata ila Billah”, “allahuma salli a’la Rasoolillah”.
It was Narrated in the 40 nabawi ahadith:
the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:
Be conscious of Allah wherever you are.
Follow the bad deed with a good one to erase it,
and engage others with beautiful character."

Soon after In sha allah you’ll have more consciousness whenever you about to use those words which eventually you’ll get into the habit of not swearing at all in sha allah تعالى.
By the will of Allah ﷻ and his success you’ll be soon able to cut this bad habit.
May Allah ﷻ guide us to the Haq and grant us Jannah with his mercy, آمين.
