MYTH: Testing is painful

FACT: The test involves a swab of the inside of your nose and throat. The whole process takes around 20 second and will not hurt.

MYTH: You can pay to get a quicker, more reliable test

FACT: The most reliable and quickest coronavirus tests are available for free via the NHS.

MYTH: There aren’t enough tests and those available should not be taken by a young, healthy person

FACT: The testing service has been rapidly expanded so there are plenty of tests.

MYTH: Only people with severe symptoms should get a test

FACT: If you have a new, continuous cough, a high temperature, or a loss/change in your sense of taste or smell, you must get tested immediately - even if your symptoms are mild.
