More than 7⃣0⃣% of ☠️ due to drug use is related to opioids, with more than 3⃣0⃣% of those deaths caused by overdose.

Ensuring appropriate use of opioids 💊 is vital as it can minimize their misuse and secure its availability for medical purposes.
The regular use of opioids💊can lead to dependence & other negative effects on health.

 WHO recommends following treatment options:
1⃣ opioid agonists maintenance
2⃣ psychosocial support
3⃣ supported detoxification ➡️ naltrexone treatment.

The medication ‘naloxone’ is an antidote to opioid overdose and it can prevent death if administered in time.
