Ganesha Murti in BLACKPINK's music video. what's wrong with that? a thread of explanation.

In BLACKPINK'S music video "How You Like That", in scene involving band-member Lisa, there is a Ganesh Murti in the bottom left corner. What is wrong with that? I explain below.

In the Hindu religion, Lord Ganesh often known as the 'Elephant God' is the 'God of New Beginnings, Success and Wisdom' and the 'Remover of Obstacles'.

Murti, is a general term for an image, statue or idol of a deity in Indian culture. In Hinduism, it is a symbolic icon. A Murti in itself is not God, it is the embodiment of a deity. The worship of these murtis is 'Murti Poojan' (Idolatry) and it is common in Hinduism.

Idolatry, importance and reasons behind it as stated in Bhagavad Gita, verse 12.5, "It is much more difficult to focus on God as the unmanifested than God with form, due to human beings having the need to perceive via the senses."

Vaastu Shastra, is a traditional Indian system of architecture originating in India. It is based on Hindu and Buddhist beliefs. 'Vaastu Shastra' also gives the principles for the design of Mandirs.

Mandir, is the Hindu Temple. According to the Vaastu Shastra, the correct placement of God (murtis) is important for a healthier and more positive life. The direction, height, everything has to be correct and in accordance with the Vaastu.

Not only religious, but the placement of God also has scientific reasons- murtis should be placed where positive energy is available from the magnetic poles.

But, in the music video of BLACKPINK, nothing is in accordance with these beliefs and practices. An idol can not be placed anywhere they fit, they have importance to people. Not only this act of ignorance hurts sentiments, but it is also highly unprofessional.

I am all for art and artistic expression, but not at the cost of an entire religious deity being misrepresentated and disrespected. The production team must not have researched about this enough. Their research was lacking, and I'm expressing my view on that.

I'm not blaming the band-members, but I've found a mistake, a huge one that too, in content they are the faces of. I'm calling out, with the help of many others, the Art Team of @ygofficialblink
