been thinking about this a lot, and a lot of people feel the same but I’m not gonna walk away from wrestling, everyone is hurting right now and memories are tainted for people but there are good people fighting for change and if we all walked away there’d be no one left fighting https://twitter.com/scott_murrin/status/1275159530746281984
and more people will get hurt, we can’t let that happen. we all love wrestling but the change we are all trying to bring about is a necessity if any of us want to enjoy it again. we’ve all found a community in wrestling and these abusers do not belong in it.
we all have a part to play and it is a privilege to be able to walk away when so many others have had traumatic experiences in and around wrestling. I do believe wrestling can be a better place but wrestlers, promoters and fans all need to have the safety of others in mind.
so if you don’t want to go to shows again that’s fine but don’t wash your hands completely. believe victims, keep supporting them, keep amplifying their voices and keep fighting to make wrestling a safer place.
look I used full stops and punctuation so you know I’m serious dw it won’t last
