So Sewall not only felt strongly enough about it to note it, but he could recall (or look up) not one but two places in Owen to cite.
To me, that's decent evidence Owen's view exercised some influence in New England in the circles Edwards was moving in.
I didn't go looking for this, it just happened to be the copy of the Annotations I found to check what they said on Naaman. In fact, finding the note was what sent me off down the rabbit hole of Naaman interpretation 1500-1750.
