I think an interesting question I see nobody address is where the balance lies between COVID-19 deaths & the cost to children of social isolation. Right & left seem to avoid intelligent debate on this, so we get nowhere
Is protecting me, at 58, more important than allowing a 12 year old today to live the life I had at 12?

Legitimate question imv, with no simple answer.
This is why Twitter & its propensity to generate exponentially more heat than light, from siloed mindsets, is largely useless as an information platform unless you exit the bubble.
Tbf, I think Starmer was right to press the government for a plan to get kids' lives back on track.

I also think the UK govt has no ideas at all about these calculations. I suspect they just see a leaner, fitter economy with fewer old people sapping resources after Brexit.
