Flanked on both sides of Surya by his Devi(s) – Usha & Prathyusha (Day & Night)
The Usha & Prathyusha are seen striking off the darkness with their bow and arrows.

The two Makaras on both the sides of Surya represent the “Vahana of Varuna & Varuni” or “Vahana of KaamaDeva”.
Varuna is result of Rashmi (Sunlight) of Surya. In this episode the attribute of “Kaama” in the dark is driven away by the Suryodayam.
