#ncga Republicans are in the process of insisting that it become illegal, as of August 1, to wear a face mask in North Carolina. #ncpol
It's normally illegal to wear a mask in NC, but there's an exemption for the virus that runs out Aug 1. @JacksonforNC pushed repeatedly to extend it and got that added to s782. That amendment was stripped out within the last 20 minutes or so. House ldrs say Senate insisted. #ncga

House Majority Leader John Bell says he thinks House/Senate can get this mask issue worked out before Aug 1. Sen Berger says it will be looked at going into the July 9 reconvene to act on any vetoes. So stay tuned. #ncga
