Imagine how many stray spreadsheets there are on various computers around the department storing crucial information noone can access
*cringe*
Wow
No need to find an offset if there's no record of impacts to threatened species 🤷‍♀️
Speeding up approvals in an under-resourced department with untrained staff, what could go wrong?
So, there's no requirement for env conditions to be linked to an outcome...what's the point then?!?
When I tell people the federal environment department doesn't even have a map of offsets, they don't believe me 👇
And yes, an offsets register was promised when the environmental offsets policy was introduced in 2012
Omg
Offsets are harder to find for threatened species because we keep clearing they're habitat (also we don't map them) so we're making it even easier to clear habitat, and not doing anything to address the problem
