Today, we received a wonderful shout out in the @CriticalRole newsletter; we were thrilled when we were contacted to be featured and are so thankful for the publicity.

This is something they should've been doing long before this.

Although they've listed us as "incredible LGBTQIA+ creators in gaming and geekery" we can't accept that endorsement without also pointing out their misgivings as a company.

Critical Role is a company that continues to falter when it comes to respecting their community. 2/6
Time after time, criticisms are made then acknowledged with a pledge of "we will do better" and then forgotten about.

This applies to instances of homophobia, transphobia, racism, misogyny, abuse, ableism, and others from the cast, crew, and community. 3/6
So, as "incredible LGBTQIA+ creators" we will also be encouraging you "to do your own research and find the type of content that makes your heart happy" and that doesn't come at the cost of someone else's happiness and security. 4/6
Critical Role has money, name recognition, and a large audience and they should have listened long ago when they were told that they need to fix the way they handle these situations. 5/6
It shouldn't take the whistleblowers such as a sensitivity consultant, who was abused by the fandom and then neglected and ghosted by the company, to speak out in order for this change to occur.

Do. Better. 6/6
Also: This statement should not reflect poorly on Surena, the community manager and person behind the newsletter who reached out to us. She is doing amazing work and we completely respect what she's doing for the company.

This is directed at the company as a whole.
