@HillarySimonTV Nice spot on how people refusing to go back to work are cheating the system. Your article mentions 10 exceptions to allow for not going back to work, stating they're on the CARES Act and the @al_labor website. So maybe you can help me out with something?
I've spent countless hours on the ADOL website and could not find those 10 reasons. The CARES Act is over 300 pages long, and I'll read the whole thing if I have to, or maybe you could just give actual useful instructions to finding them? Or, I don't know, just tell them to us?
After my claim was canceled, I was told to contact the helpline to discuss my case. As you can see from my screenshot, I went out of my way to try to do just that. All I ever got were messages to hang up and try again later.
I've also called every other available number, just trying to reach a human being at the ADOL. I also sent emails and faxes to every contact I could find. It would seem the ADOL does not employ living people.
For the record, I AM entirely willing to work. In fact, I did return to work when I was offered hours again. I was more than happy to get back to earning a living, despite my concerns, as I live with both my elderly parents, one of whom has severe COPD and asthma.
When I got to work, I found that the majority of employees were making zero effort to socially distance, that masks were being worn as necklaces, & that safety precautions were being openly laughed at and neglected. So I quit, because $10hr is not worth risking my parents' lives.
So PLEASE, @HillarySimonTV, tell me who at the ADOL I can speak to who can explain to me why I don't deserve support while I look for a job that won't openly mock my efforts to protect the health of my parents. Because I feel I am NOT able to safely return to that job.
Who do I talk to, Hillary? Which of the 300+ pages of the CARE Act addresses my situation? Which corner of the ADOL website have I failed to locate? Help me out here, Hillary. Surely you are interested in actually covering this issue, not just promoting ADOL's finger-pointing. TY
UPDATE: I was able to watch your segment, rather than just read the transcript. From the screenshot on your story, I was able to find the Exceptions list through a Google search. Knowing what to look for, I then went back & tried to locate it from the ADOL website, but could not.
