but then: constant demands for attention and validation; weepy self-flagellation that requires a lot of comforting; refusal to read or engage with any resources that you've collected and sent to them; no actual changes to behaviour.

frankly, for some of these people, it's just another opportunity to get more of what they like about being a bully or an abuser: attention. power. validation. control.
