Another thread on COVID: It's astonishing how few people are talking about the disabling and debilitating after-effects of the virus. How many people will be disabled by it in the long term? Early studies are showing this is a significant proportion of those infected, including
those who had mild symptoms. The UK government isn't even telling people with mild symptoms to watch out for clotting issues in following weeks. Zero reporting on how it effects different organs and systems in the body?

Back in the early days we thought this was just a disease
of the lungs that killed quickly and traumatically. Now we are starting to see that the virus can attack the lungs, kidneys, heart, the blood, vascular system, and brain. We know more now about how little we know about what this virus does. We have little idea of how our
society will cope with these debilitating consequences, especially where the virus is allowed to effect large proportions of the population.

Where countries like the UK, Brazil, and USA have failed to suppress the virus, they have suppressed any sense that we don’t know how
disabling the virus is. They are suppressing what little we do know too. In order to give people courage to “restart the economy”, to send people to work in dangerous conditions, governments simply smother rational fears with yet another lie and yet another smile.
