Hey Twitter! We’ve spent time listening to and chatting with @WatchMixer streamers over the last few days - and we hear you guys. In no particular order, here are the top questions we’ve heard from various Town Halls, Discord chats & DMs… with some answers!

Thread:
Did Facebook buy Mixer?

No, Facebook did not buy Mixer. After Microsoft let us know their plans, we partnered up to give Mixer streamers an option to transition to Facebook Gaming. ‘Option’ is an important word, because (see next tweet)...
As an ex-Mixer partner, do I have to stream on Facebook Gaming?

Definitely not. We’d love to have you, but this is all completely optional. If you do decide to come over, we've got teams of people working on making your transition as smooth as possible.
What are you offering Mixer Partners?

We’re offering partner status for Mixer Partners, and we’ll match existing Mixer partner agreements as closely as possible. More details on our partner benefits here: https://fb.me/mixerfbg
I’m not a Mixer Partner, I just stream there - now what?

Streamers from Mixer’s open monetization program can join our Level Up Program, with fast-track onboarding for eligible streamers. Get started at http://fb.gg/mixer
Are any Mixer employees moving over to Facebook Gaming?

No. No personnel from Mixer are being employed by Facebook as part of our partnership.
(1/2) Are any Mixer Partners named in recent allegations of misconduct getting Partner status?

Any public accounts of misconduct that we’re aware of will be a determining factor for who is brought over as a Partner. (cont.)
(2/2) Are any Mixer Partners named in recent allegations of misconduct getting Partner status?

We intend to do our part to maintain a safe and inclusive community, and we expect Partners to set an example for the rest of the community.
I am a streamer, and don’t want my real name shown to viewers.

Gaming Creators stream from Pages, which by default, have no personal info on them. No viewer will be able to see your personal profile, except for those with a Page role (as a moderator, for example).
I’m a viewer (or a moderator), and I don’t want my real name to be seen in chat.

It’s possible to create a Page and comment as that Page. We recommend that you use the desktop version of Facebook for chatting this way; it’s not currently supported on mobile.
Heck, I don’t even want to login to Facebook to watch! Can I?

Yes, although of course, you won’t be able to chat, send Stars, or follow your favorite creators. Visit http://fb.gg  to find your next favorite creator - we recommend http://fb.gg/kinggothalion
I want my Facebook Gaming Page to have the same name as my Mixer?

When creating your Page, you will be able to create a username for it. If for some reason it’s not available, our support team will try to help you out.
(1/2) Do you have chatbots?

We don’t have chatbots that are exactly like some of the third-party solutions on other platforms. That said, we have a bunch of features in the works including our own chatbots, and partners get early access to those sorts of features.
2/2 Chatbots, cont.

In addition, we have resources for third-party developers to work with the Facebook API and potentially develop bots. If that interests you, look for documentation on live comments at: https://developers.facebook.com/
How do I even stream on Facebook? I’m lost!

We know a lot of this is new, and Facebook is known as a social media platform first. We have some videos to help guide you through this process at http://fb.gg/creators
Can I stream non-gaming stuff on Facebook Gaming?

You can stream anything that falls within our community guidelines on Facebook. However, for content to appear on Facebook Gaming channels it would need to include a game of some kind - video, tabletop, board, etc.
I heard on Twitter that [insert Mixer-related rumor]

… let us just stop you there. Unless it’s said on this account on Twitter, please don’t assume it’s true. We are happy to take questions - our DMs are open. :)
1/2 I don’t trust you. Only my grandma uses Facebook! Why should I stream there?

We get it. We know we have to earn people’s trust, and it’s more than okay if you decide not to stream on Facebook. We also know words are only going to go so far, and we need to prove it. (cont.)
(2/2) The best way for us to earn your trust is to keep building a great streaming experience. We're making good progress, and it's your input that has gotten us this far.

Also, have you ever considered if your grandma on Facebook... might be a gamer?
