I wonder how many self professed communist have actually worked in social work or human services?
13 year veteran of human services here. I have worked in residential programs, homeless shelters, counseling offices, transitional housing, and plenty of other departments. You can't throw money or free services at poverty without investment by the recipients.
Alleviating poverty and addressing outcomes requires job training, motivational coaching, and mentoring. These are time investments and require a lot more than taking money from others for redistribution. The only way out of this situation is investing time and training.
The only thing that wealth redistribution will generate is apathy and dependency on social safety nets. I personally chose to mentor and strongly encourage every one of you to as well. Our collective complacency is drowning this country.
