Do public apologies change private thoughts? https://www.facebook.com/100016095188020/posts/709671879579312/?d=n
It is far beyond time for the people of this state to stop using historically racist tactics to dismiss Black Granite Staters from achieving positions of authority. People of color are already incredibly underrepresented in such roles, New Hampshire.
...and actions such as this only deepen that inequity. Unacceptable . While I appreciate the gesture of a public apology from Councilor Volinsky, THERE IS much more work to be done. Words are capable of inflicting an amount of damage that an apology, even if genuine, can’t heal.
We must all do the work when it comes to dismantling systemic racism and implicit bias here in New Hampshire.
