Why "So What" has the most lore since Solos: a thread

Thread start

The intro logo for So What is black and has a red slash. Black for Olivia and Red for Kim Lip. The use of red in So What is a reference to Eclipse. (excuse the quality)

In the comeback stage intro, the intro starts with Heejin’s eyes and ends with Olivia’s. When Lip enters the # choreo in their comeback stage (), the girls are mixed up but lined up as though the fight has just begun. # is the fight where they choose their+

sides. The choreo is then like Hyunjin controlling the girls. This is similar to Gowon acting as a puppeteer in Butterfly before the first dance break. Gowon leads the members to stand up while Hyunjin pushes them to the side and moves them around much more aggressively.

As though Hyunjin was using force and Gowon was not. Gowon represents hope. The reason Hyunjin has to control the girls in # is likely because Olivia and Lip weren’t listening. When they dance forward its first Choerry Yves and Olivia who then dip their heads to the ground. +

They've chosen their side. Then it's Gowon Heejin Yeojin and Hyunjin, Heejin and Hyunjin go left and Yeojin and Gowon go right. They've chosen their sides except Heejin who in the end doesn’t choose a side (explained soon). Then it's Vivi Lip Chuu and Jinsoul.

Vivi and Chuu go left and Jinsoul goes right. They've chosen their sides. LIp goes straight since she leads her side. At the end of #, the girls are split. One side is with Lip looking to the left, the other with Olivia looking to the right.

Olivia’s side: Yves, Vivi, Hyunjin, Chuu, Choerry
Lip’s side: Yeojin, Heejin, Gowon, Jinsoul, (possibly Haseul but she was on break)

Let's talk about So What's MV intro. It flashes a moon then an eclipse. The moon starts out unburned. There's distance between the moon and sun at first. Do not accept the fate of the moon. Olivia hesitating to accept lip. Get off the track reveal to the world the hidden side.

Burn yourself. Having to get off her normal track to prove that she can be ok. Burning her previous mindset. Back to the cb stage choreo- After #, So What begins. At this part in the choreo, the lines are the same as the sides chosen in #. Except Heejin in the middle.

This is due to her being the mediator of the fight. There is a lot of evidence for this I’ll get to later. For now, Heejin sings “Always the obvious answers/Talk too long blah blah blah”. She recognizes that the fight is unnecessary and that the group can come to a consensus.

Lip then sings “Before it gets too long,/Cut it out, don’t be afraid”. She agrees with Heejin and wants the fight to stop. Hyunjin then says “Here choose one tick tak toe / It’s either O or X (Ha!)” followed by Jinsoul “Shout Louder sho-shout!” and Olivia “Be yourself Ho-Hot!”

Hyunjin laughs at her lyrics. She realizes choosing sides was silly. Jinsoul also mocks the fight. Olivia however talks about how she’s accepted herself. She can be herself even though her flames (temper) are hot.

Chuu sings “Eh can’t let it hide Burn /Oh the look changed in your eyes”. You can’t hide who you are, she’s encouraging letting yourself burn as well. The change refers to Olivia’s mindset changing.

After Vivi’s iconic Hey! Heejin then sings “The obstacles that were too high/I’ll show you going over that/Further with my thrilling eyes/Follow me”. . She shows Olivia how to get past her anger and encourages her to follow her lead. Lip, Choerry, and Yves then sing “Being sharp+

+So What?!/Being cold, So What?!/Being fearless (Bad)/For what?! So What?!/(Ba-ba-ba-bad)”. The choreography looks like shrugging. So what if Olivia has qualities that could be considered bad? They can also be good! Isn’t the most important thing to accept herself?

Gowon and Olivia then sing “Take that, So What?!”. These words sound like they’re mocking the fight. Take that! They’ve shown Olivia how to get past her mindset. “I’m so bad, what’s wrong with that?/I’m so bad, so what?/I’m so bad, be myself/I’m so Bad”.

The group sings that so what if they all have bad qualities, they’ve accepted themselves and so can Olivia.

Right before Heejin's rap, Yeojin is shown at a school. She's been lost in the forest and now at a school. This is Eden. Her throwing her bag is an act of defiance.

In Heejin's rap, Olivia is to her left and Lip is to her right. Yeojin is in the back. This is important.

They are on different sides than they started and Heejin is acting as a mediator. “The way of kicking it and getting up to run/Let me remind you/Burn yourself” Heejin is “reminding” them of who they are and how arguing can get you nowhere if it’s just biting at each other.

In order to rebirth their relationship, Lip and Olivia have to burn their old one so something new can emerge. They have to put their differences aside. Olivia says “Take it out from yourself” a phrase that means forgetting about your unhappiness and worries to feel better.

Then the lyrics are “The world revolves around you/We don’t need that small bird cage, No/Let’s fly higher/Lightly skip/On my own feet”. The world revolves around the sun (olivia). She doesn’t need to have a caged way of thinking anymore. +

Like Hi High, they can soar. Like Icarus they can get close to the sun. They’re back on their feet. They’re thinking clearly again. “Hurry, come follow me/Trust your instinct, don’t worry (Ha!)”. Trust your instinct reminds me of Olivia’s animal being a wolf. Don’t worry could+

+relate to Olivia’s previous line “take it out from yourself”. And of course follow me is following their example of accepting themselves. “Intense sho-shock!/You already can’t stop” Realizing that you’re worthy of loving yourself is a shock and then you can’t stop? Irdk lol.

“Eh/blow it away with firework Burn/Oh the look in your eyes became fierce (Hey!)/The shiniest star that is highest/Let me show you catching it/If you’ve been waiting endlessly/Follow me” The look in Olivia’s eyes changed. The highest star is the sun (olivia).

Yves is showing Olivia how to accept herself. During the choreography, all of YYXY follows Yves from behind. Olivia’s been waiting endlessly to be accepted.

Then comes the finale. Lip begins it since her side has won. “I can feel it/Your heart is about to blow up/But trust your heart, and don’t stop (Don’t stop)/Don’t wanna wait no more/Go around the world/Especially being brighter tonight”. +

Your mindset is about to burn but keep going it’ll be okay. Let the sun orbit the world and be your brighter self. It’ll be okay. There is a moon crater named Icarus. Heejin flew too close to the sun and burned like the moon did. Lip represents the moon.

Being bright tonight shows them getting closer. Olivia and Lip are eclipsing. Lip is the moon that burns. In the MV when the moon burns Lip is shown. The flames on the feather are put out since sitr takes place after. (Timeline will be explained in a bit)

The rain only comes when Jinsoul is free from Olivia (she was trapped in Egoist and SITR but breaks out and brings the rain) “Let’s burn more fiercely/If you want them all, have it all/Because it shines without a break/Bad bad so What?/More overwhelmed/Open up your possibilities+

/So that no one can stop you”. Be yourself, shine without fear. Even if it’s overwhelming it opens up possibilities. No one can stop you from accepting who you are. Not even yourself now.

“Eh your intense heart burn/(Your intense heart)/Oh it’s getting hotter (Hey!)/A glass wall that trapped my heart/I’ll show you breaking that wall/A shining world, further/Follow me” A glass wall trapped Olivia’s heart. Her anger was so intense she couldn’t think clearly.

She’s letting go of it and can shine now. “I’m so bad, what’s wrong with that?” Olivia has accepted herself. It doesn’t matter if she’s “bad”, she loves herself for who she is.

Now let's talk about Egoist. Olivia's POV of So What

“Your facial expressions towards me/Turned cold at some moment” The girls turned on Olivia for Lip's side.

“I wanted to despise you/But my heart wouldn’t let you go” She was angry but still loved them.

“At the edge of the darkness/On the way home after sunset/That’s where I saw the moonlight”
When the sun set (her anger), she could see Lip’s point of view clearly.

“From now on I’ll love myself, Instead of you, I’ll live on” She’ll love herself instead of her anger!!

“Love myself today/Let you go today” Love herself and let go of her anger.

“Put my hands together/And ask for you back just once/My dreams that I prayed for” She wants Loona back.

“The day when our promises became the light” The Eclipse.

“In the space with countless stars/You met me, it must not be a coincidence/It was fate/A blessing for me” Space is where the eclipse between Olivia and Lip happened. It was fated and in the end helped Olivia.

So What is an aggressive song by Olivia represents anger. But until now she hasn't known how to deal with it until the girls helped her.

Jinsoul's rap in Egoist and SITR "Hey, for the sin of swallowing you"+"The sin of swallowing up the afternoon sun”. Reinforces that Olivia is the sun.

Now I'll explain the timeline.

In “X X” we see Hi High rewinded. It’s been undone. It was either a dream or a timeline that no longer exists.
In the teaser “XIIX” Gowon is seen running. There is a dreamcatcher shown. Then she falls. She seems to wake up in Iceland. She gets up and leaves another version of +

herself. This could be her astral projecting. When she cups the feather she finds she turns it into butterflies. These butterflies are similar to the ones in So What. Then it says Fly Like a Butterfly in another language.

In “#” teaser we see the same scene as “XIIX”. Gowon takes off her coat. We see Butterfly Era burned. It’s likely that due to this So What/BURN Era is in a new timeline. The reason Gowon was at Haseul’s plane is likely that she was using it to travel.

In this case to another timeline because the past two failed. Or rather they were dreams. Hi High is rewinded and at the beginning of “XIIX” we see a dreamcatcher. But at the beginning of “#” It seems there is no astral body and no dreamcatcher. This is reality.

Gowon has gone back. She is trying to save Olivia from her anger. In So What Gowon is on Lip’s side. The reason she chose that side could be because she was trying to save Olivia since Hi High was a dream. Dreams have been shown in the Loonaverse before with Heart Attack.

The time that Gowon travels back to is during Eclipse, Lip's solo. Lip's solo is about her Eclipse with Olivia in So What.

I'll go into that more now.

The first lyric to eclipse is “I feel Sparks yeah”. She feels Olivia's fire.

“The love which is lighted by mind of us” Love lighted by fire.

“In a moment, the tension is relaxed and a weak sound of breath” tension from the fight has passed.

“In the hidden shadows where you and I faced each other.” Their fight.

“Happening in destiny.” Another fate lyric. Fate of the moon is what Olivia accepts.

“Getting closer”-- their eclipse the sun and moon

“So many colors different from me”-- loona coming together

Now this next part is important

"Your mind which is blooming in the light/I can find it at first glance. It's like Pandora's Box"

Olivia's mind was Pandora's box. She was stuck in her anger and didn't realize it was more like a curse than helping her if uncontrolled.

Eclipse also references Cupid Love. Cupid fell madly in love with Psyche despite his mother's jealousy over her beauty. Lip fell in love with Olivia despite Olivia's anger and jealousy.

“Like a fog has bloomed”-- smoke from the fire.

“Hold me with your arms”-- getting closer

Girl front could be about Olivia too? It was originally called FOOL and love makes you a fool and Lip loved Olivia despite the odds stacked against her. The first line to girl front is about an eclipse. "Can’t take my eyes off you, you and my eclipse"

Now let's talk about Day&Night

"You and me, lights that grew distant/Now a distance that can’t be closed/You’re still stopped in place/Shining on me so dizzily"

You and me could be Olivia and Kim Lip. The distance between the sun and moon has closed which is why the moon in So What burns. +

+The moon does not shine by itself. The reason the lights had grown distanced is because Lip and Olivia had fought.

"Day & night/Circling me all day/Hurting me, again I’m up all night/Day & night/Beyond the time of memories, move on" Lip is hurt by the flames of their fight but goes toward Olivia anyways. They orbit.

"You’re goin’ around ’round (Oh)
Goin’ around and ’round (So what?)
You’re goin’ around ’round (Oh)
Goin’ around and ’round (So what?)"

Reference to So What

"Baby maybe/We’ve been hurt so much/Love you, hate you/A gap in temperature between changed hearts/What we wanted must have been too different/It was for the best, probably, we might regret it, maybe"

Lip and Olivia have hurt each other in the past due to their differences but+

+now they’ve had a change of heart and Lip has accepted being burned. It’s for the best even though she’s hesitating. Same goes for Olivia.

"I knew it all along/That it’d end up like this/Everything was so obvious/I know it’s a fact I’ve been feeling/So why does it just hit me now"

Questioning their fight and why they didn't make up sooner

"In that faraway place that can’t be reached/Faintly shining/Day and night, thoughts of you circle around me/Now I block out that light"

Faraway could be space. OEC’s realm could be the cosmos. Or it could talk about when there was distance between Olivia & Lip. Blocking out+

+the light represents Olivia and Lip eclipsing. The Moon covers the Sun. Eclipse in the past (Girl Front, Eclipse) has been used as a metaphor for change. Lip And Olivia are experiencing change and putting their differences aside. Burning their relationship into something new.

WAIT RIGHT- I forgot to mention why yyxy has no repackage. Bc their story hasnt ben completed! Or rather was undone by Gowon to redeem Olivia!

The next comeback is likely YYXY centered due to this. In addition loona has been hinting roses. YYXY's fruits (minus gowon) belong to the Rose Family Rosaceae. And they bit a rose in Love4eva.
