Yesterday, @KarlRove Rove, the architect of the Republican takeover of Texas in the 1990s, attacked me by name in the @WSJ.

Two things about this:

1: When "Bush's Brain" has your name on his lips, you are definitely the one Republicans don't want to face in November. (1/7)
2: @KarlRove implied that my criticism of too few voting locations in Kentucky and Georgia during recent primaries was race-bating.

Never mind that I was echoing the same criticisms voiced by @BarackObama, @EricHolder, and @staceyabrams. (2/7)
Anyone paying attention can see the disaster that our elections under #COVID19 COVID-19 have been -- because our response to COVID-19 has been such as disaster under @realDonaldTrump. (3/7)
The fact is, Trump left us high and dry on COVID-19, and our elections processes have had to adjust on the fly ever since. At least in George and Kentucky, leaders expanded voting by mail and allowed more people to vote. (4/7)
Right here in Texas, our leaders cannot even get voting by mail straight, and you can lay that right at Rove's feet.

@KarlRove has championed voter suppression tactics his entire career, from gerrymandering, to voter ID laws. (5/7)
The bankrupt Republican Party he built here cares more about retaining power than the safety of people, so they fall back on Rove's "phantom of voter fraud" arguments as an excuse for not expanding voting by mail. (6/7)
It's truly sad - and truly voter suppression on an epic scale.

Democrats, it is imperative that we vote anyway, for the change we need and the change we seek.

Wear your mask. Respect others and socially distance. But vote. (7/7)
