I grew up in New York City without ever driving a
. In fact, I never learned to drive at all. My mom didnât drive a
either.
This would have been impossible w/o overnight service. It allowed us to live our lives with the knowledge that transit would always b there 4 us.

âŠovernight service has created a culture where *most* people in our city do not have to own a carâ and the vast majority never drive at all.
Ending it would mean profound changes for our city. I cannot fathom how different NYC will be w/o itâŠ.

âŠas @TransAlt @bikenewyork @RegionalPlan rightfully push for a city that has less cars and more pedestrians and bikes.. I hope we recognize tha the single greatest threat to that future is being contemplated right now.

âŠI guess Iâm okay with the idea of making changes if we had a robust discussion⊠but this is being done quietly while most NYers are busy with #COVID19 and protesting white supremacy.
Most ppl arenât even aware that this is being discussed as an option. Itâs anti-democratic..

âŠ.Iâm just floored by how quietly and quickly this is all happening without any semblance of community outreach or democratic process.
