. @JohnKerry pretended electronic election theft wasn’t a concern when it was. He stayed silent as @comey & others falsely testified that our system is too decentralized to allow an outcome altering hack. Now Trump is falsely accusing Ds of trying to steal an election from HIM. 1/ https://twitter.com/jennycohn1/status/1275985664585023488
As we stray further and further from the truth about US presidential elections, never has it been more important to try to set the record straight. And yet @JohnKerry & other “losing” Ds remain largely silent, never lifting a finger to warn the public about election theft. 2/
How many stolen seats are there really on the US Supreme Court? The public doesn’t even know to protest and they won’t know to protest in November if it happens then. Because they’ve been misled by their own party leaders who have rolled over again & again for GOP thugs. 3/
Of course the GOP will repeat its past misdeeds. There was never any accountability for them. @ericholder even allowed Karl Rove to defy a congressional subpoena and testify off the record in private instead. 4/
. @DonSiegelman told me the Democratic Party was nowhere to be found when Karl Rove and his thugs did THIS in his election. WTAF?! 5/ https://twitter.com/jennycohn1/status/1273011109071446016?s=21 https://twitter.com/jennycohn1/status/1273011109071446016
. @donsiegelman is the only Democrat that I’m aware of who says out loud that his election was stolen. Max Cleland apparently thought his election was stolen by Rove too, but his campaign didn’t want to break it to the public that their votes might not have counted. 6/
I was told this last part (about Cleland) by @Spoonamore. It harmonizes with Cleland’s book in which he warns that voting machines are ripe for fraud. 7/
The truth matters. Even (or especially) if the truth is that we don’t have an election system that allows us to confirm the legitimacy of election outcomes. And the truth is that we don’t. We never did get manual recounts where it mattered in 2016. This is insanity. 9/
The first step toward fixing a problem is acknowledging that it exists. It’s long past time for @JohnKerry and others to take that first step. 10/
