it seems to be an article of faith that US cases are spiking and that it cannot be "more testing" because testing is not up.

despite the ELR issues that are causing systematic under-count of testing totals and salting positives there is one problem for this claim:

as before, let's zoom in to see if this has changed more recently:

not since the beginning of may.

testing up 351%.

cases up 121%
what if we look just at june?

nope.

testing up 67%.

cases up 32%.
what about just the second half of june?

nope.

testing up 21%.

cases up 14%.
so can we please dispense with the "it's not testing" argument?

this is nothing like true.

even with the testing being salted and under-counted in many states, overall % of cumulative US tests coming back positive made an all time low on 6/24.

that means it's trending down.
