People laugh when they do it with the obvious trolls and sockpuppets and think that means it's always ok but they've made it seriously unsafe on here for so many people and they just shrug like whelp can't control my followers

People think it's so unfair that people with big followings can't act the same way as people with smaller followings and just go ahead and QT to dunk or even defend themselves but HELLO welcome to recognizing and acknowledging your privelege!!! It's a trade off go make a second
Account completely separate from your professional one if you want to pick fights on here without having to worry about what your followers will do.

Ugh I wish I could find the thread but this was years and years ago where Kate Beaton did this to someone w/a smaller following and was HORRIFIED at the harrasment it kicked off and made a great thread about why that was wrong of her and ppl were like you don't need to be sorry
You didn't do anything wrong and she really stuck to her guns like no that was leveraging my platform in a harmful way.
It's a lot easier to listen to your followers when they're giving you an out than it is to acknowledge and listen and change.
