Arsenal, as a football club, are at rock bottom. Consistently embarrassing themselves and fans with a mediocre squad they are in desperate need of a rebuild. In this thread i’ll be focusing on the much needed changes around the squad going into Artetas first full season.
Part 1-Outgoings: As everyone knows Arsenal have an overload in positions, however, a lack of quality in most. Also, Raul and co. said they promise to make desisions on players running their contracts down. This will lead to serious funds incoming if they make correct outgoings.
Within our current squad their are many players people want gone but you need to think about depth and whether a team will actually want them and if they want to go. This is based on players like Ă–zil who is adamant in staying due to the contract that has ruined us.
So, the players who need to go for money , are: Mkhitaryan, Elneny, Sokratis, Torreira, Lacazette, Mustafi and Bellerin. Some that could also go are Holding but I think a loan suits him better, Ozil but no one will take him and Mavropanos but I think he’s impressed on loan.
So, with these predicted outgoings I believe we’ll be on around a 150 million pound increase in funds. This is due to these predicted price tags: 10m from Mkhitaryan, 10m from Elneny, 15m from Sokratis, 35m from Torreira, 30m from Laca, 10m from Mustafi and 30m from Bellerin.
With the reliable @Soccerex stating we can spend around 230m without FFP interventions and also the suspension of FFP my guess with corona included we’d have around a 200m pound budget to spend on transfers. This is a very good start considering change is needed in the squad.
Part 2- The rebuild: With our new budget of 200m after outgoings i’ll look at some of Arsenals targets but with also an insight into what players should be coming in.
The rebuild is going to be a 3 year project in my opinion and very much relys on our youth progressing aswell as Arteta being given time. With this said this summer Saka needs to be handed a long-term contract no matter what. That’s the first big move.
With two loanees, two centre backs, a right back, a midfielder and a striker leaving this is already a spine needing a refresh. With Ceballos and Cedric also leaving we have a lack of right backs and midfielders. These are all key positions needed at Arsenal without sales anyway.
Part 3- The Shortlist: Any player Arsenal can attract this window will be an instant improvement (hopefully) but these players are absolute musts for our transfer window.
Defence: Arsenal need a Centre back and a right back. For the right back spot I think we should go in for Max Aarons of Norwich. The young Englishman is most likely about to be in the championship next season and will probably cost around the 20 million pound mark.
With this youthful wing back coming in we need another centre back to come in and sure up the defence. My choice is the 22 year old Gabriel of Lille. The youngster will also add youth however has had 2 seasons of experience in Ligue 1. He will most likely cost 30 million pounds.
Midfield: With the outgoings of Torreira anc Ceballos we need a new midfielder aswell as a midfielder who, in my opinion, can fix a big big issue in our side.
My first purchase would be Thomas Partey. The machine from Atletico Madrid has been heavily linked with Arsenal and is a much needed target for the Gunners. Due to his release clause he would cost around 50 million however would transform the midfield.
My second purchase would be Carlos Soler of Valencia. The 23 year old can play central and wide and Arteta is said to be a big admierer if the Spaniard. He will reportedly cost around 35 million but would become a very creative player for us and has a lot of time to grow.
With 135 million spent on four much needed transfers we’d still have around 65 million to invest into our squad. I’d put all of this on Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig. The 21 year old Frenchman from the Bundesliga has been a heavy target of Arsenals for years.
With consistent rumours I think Arsenal should snap him up while his contract has a year to go. He’d cost around 45 million but would be a huge upgrade to our defence and would allow Sailba to progress with less pressure.
Part 4-Project Rebuild: So we’ve finished the Transfer Window with a squad which has had improvement across the much needed positions that have to have improvements. If we went out into next season with this squad and where lucky with injures we would 100% challenge for top 4.
(End of thread) If you’ve made it this far this is my hopeful rebuild of my club and what i want to see going into the 2020/21 season. If you have any suggestions on what to do better reply to the tweet. Also like and retweet if you enjoyed. Thankyou for reading cheers.
