Also as much as I appreciate the discourse around Elijah McClain all the “he wouldn’t hurt a fly” “he played violin to cats” he’s clearly a very sweet boy but even if he wasn’t, even if he was a gangbanger nobody deserves to be murdered like that. NOBODY.
Sometimes when you guys speak like this - white people especially, it almost appears that you’re only condemning the polices behaviour because because he has such a clean record which alludes to the idea that it wouldn’t be so bad if maybe he had something bad in his background.
The worst part about this is non black people actuallt think they’re helping us out by pushing this narrative but all they’re doing is buying into old racist tropes of “you’re not like the other ones” which have been circulating for centuries
