The end result of 64% of your faculty being over 50 years old and catching COVID19 is an expected loss of 3.2% of your faculty due to death from COVID-19. Chew on that for a while. I am an over 50 faculty member. 3/3
And, assume 50% of your faculty are over 50 years old. And, assume there is a 5% case fatality rate, only applied to those over age 50. So, 40% of your faculty will be over 50 and catch COVID-19, and 2% will be expected to die of COVID-19. 2/
