Dear Democrats: Please stop treating the mass death currently happening, and the extraordinary and terrifying corruption of this administration, as background facts mostly relevant in terms of electoral arguments about November.

Treat them as crises to be solved NOW, TODAY.
Many of you are AT THIS VERY MOMENT in government. We are aware that you neither hold complete authority nor have all the solutions. But what is intolerable is watching many of you primarily treat this suffering and destruction as a way to make a political case for our votes.
The world’s problems do not exist to win you elections; you win elections in order to solve problems. Many of you seem deeply confused about this, and seem to regard the elections as both the ends and means of your work. And it’s paralyzed you in a time of extraordinary crisis.
It really shouldn't need to be said that, when I'm worried about family members dying in an uncontrolled pandemic, my city's economy collapsing, or the federal government being taken over by thieves and mobsters, "Vote for Joe in five months!" is not remotely responsive.
