San Jose is the most diverse metro in the US.

Several of the most racially/ethnically diverse metros are also the least affordable.

The only one east of Texas is metro Washington DC.

2/
The least diverse large metros include eight predominantly non-Hispanic White metros across all regions, and two mostly Hispanic Texas border metros.

3/
The two most diverse counties in the US are:

1. the borough of Queens
2. the island of Kauai.

4/
Since 2016 diversity has increased most in several Florida metros (Lakeland, Orlando, Tampa) and in the Northeast (Scranton, Allentown, New Haven, Poughkeepsie, Hartford).

Seattle and Las Vegas, too.

5/
Since 2016 the non-Hispanic White share declined in the US and in all but 2 large metros:

Charleston-North Charleston SC
Durham-Chapel Hill NC

6/
Since 2016 the US and all but 3 large metros have gotten older.
