Arthur joined Barca from Brazilian Side Grêmio in the 2018/19 season. Nobody knew about him. Everyone was surprised as to why Barcelona was paying an amount €40m for a player nobody knew.
But it all changed.
In his first match 18 Aug 2018, against Alavés, he came on as a sub on the 77th min & mesmerized everyone with his control on the ball & the ability to resist the press. Got his 1st assist that night and everybody knew this guy is here to stay. But did that happen?
But on 25th of the same month, he wasn't even brought on from the bench against Real Valladolid just after providing an assist in his 1st match. Everyone thought this is just a start and he will be given time to adapt. But does that really happened? Absolutely not!!
One thing which is always said about Arthur is that he was not given time to adapt to this team and it was true most of the time. Whenever he performed on the pitch, only 2 things happened with him.
1- He would be subbed off b4 90 minutes.
2- He will not play the next match.

Injuries were never a problem for him in his 1st season. He did have 2 major injuries namely 1 one in the hamstring and the other 1 a tear in the abductor's muscle but he only missed 10 matches due to them.
In the current season, he has missed around 12 matches due to injuries.

Last season Arthur started 31 matches out of a total 49 matches in which he was in the squad which are in my opinion a good total for any player but not for a midfielder who was bought for replacing the likes of Iniesta and was seen as the future.
Out of the 31 matches, he started last season, he lasted more than 75' in just 13 matches which are just 43% of total matches. It is clearly not up 2 the mark for a player who was bought for the future. Majority of those matches where he completed full 90 were in the Copa Del Rey
In the current season, out of the 30 matches he was in the squad, he started just 17 out of them.
Out of those 17 matches, only 6 of them were those in which he completed the full 90'.

I would blame the manager because it is there job to manage the playing time for players. We all know that the playing time should be more for players who will be with us in the near future. If Rakitic and Vidal, get more playing time than Arthur, there is certainly a problem.
The thing that happened with Arthur is the same which happened with Malcom also. Malcom gave an amazing performance against Madrid without Messi and then he wasn't even selected for the next match. The trust issue was the big one and Valverde neither had wid Malcom nor wid Arthur
It was as if he is not needed at the club. The Liverpool game proved this. The game was lacking a player who could slow the game and resists Liverpool's press and we had one, but on the bench. The game was crying for Arthur to be subbed on was never did.
But I would not blame the manager for his performances. We all know he is a great player who has the qualities bcoz of which he was seen as Iniesta's replacement. He gave amazing performances but he is not up to the mark. He has scored only 4 times this season and has 4 assists.
In the last season out of 44 matches he was involved in, he only had 3 assists.
BUT LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR.
Arthur is a player who has the potential to be one of the best midfielders in the world. I would not let go of him for any cost.

To replace him with Pjanic, a 30 years old midfielder who just have 2-3 years at the top level by letting go one of our best midfielders is in itself sound funny.
Arthur should not be sold and @FCBarcelona would be making a big mistake if they let him go.
