edjop remains one of my fave revolutionaries, bcuz as an ex-careerist centrist turned Red Fighter, he exemplifies the truth of DM (the potentials for transformation), & need to patiently uphold UF (while never diluting the politics), bcuz those seeds ur planting arent for nothing
been learning a lot doing work in sj/idpol-dominated spaces w ppl who i cant be super militant around w/o substantial pol ed as to not alienate them, and truthfully im finding a lot of joy in it
because i can see how our movements dont have a monopoly over the *desire* for justice, but are the outlet for those who’ve come to an articulate consciousness of the issues and their roots
in other words in the v little time ive been doing this ive seen so much optimism and hunger to follow what in their minds is the most just course of action, albeit lacking a class framework, and i am inspired by it. all it takes is patient struggle, education to get them there
so I think this is spiel is an indictment of myself and fellow comrades who come on too strong, acting in the spirit of adventurism, quick to tell everyone why theyre so wrong —so “petit-b”— while consistently avoiding principled struggle/debate
even after he became a communist edjop was v accessible to his liberal friends, maintaining relationships, planting seeds, never forcing his politic but mass-lining w expert persuasion. & i aspire to that level of humility & compassion for the people...it’s the revolutionary way
