TBH what with this whole grandstanding thing Wizards of the Coast are doing with D&D and dictating how you play certain fantasy races and stuff... I mean... why not just completely ignore them. That's the beauty of tabletop:
It's not like with videogames where to a degree the code and the designer is going to possess the key to some esoteric barrier on rules. You can literally just choose which rules you do and don't want to obey because they're written in a book. Don't even buy the book.
Like, who out there are running vanilla D&D games completely according to the expensive rule books based on standard template D&D scenarios. Probably boring groups you don't wanna play with anyway.
Like, you don't really need much to culturally reclaim D&D from entryists who want to ruin it. Curate the kind of people you want to invite into the tabletop hobby. Run your own games. Pick and choose what rules framework you want to work with.
If you want to run what some people would deign to be "the most culturally insensitive game of D&D ever" where you all roll Orcs who do Orcy smash things for apologetically evil reasons, there's basically nothing WotC can do to stop you.
