On 1/12/18 my twin was dragged out of a @JimLee signing hosted by @DCComics for asking about Eddie Berganza and the other serial harassers DC hired. They tried to convince her that Jim Lee's title as Publisher was "decorative" and tried to buy her off. This is her story. 1/5
And yes, she was kicked out of the Newseum during Free Speech Week for asking the Publisher of DC to address his company's inaction on serial sexual assault. 2/5
Here is the email exchange. Ms. Simmons had a big talk about tours and free "Powerful Women" events, but she never even followed through on her attempts to keep Sarah quiet. 3/5
I've talked about this before but I want to bring it up again. Because years later, @DCComics has stayed silent. They have earned a reputation as a company that will protect serial harassers and abusers. And as far as I've seen they have not publicly committed to change. 4/5
And @DCComics knows about this stuff. They know because *people tell them.* Employees report abuse. Potential creatives tell them they have to decline offers because the company protects abusers. They know because costumers ask directly! They know. And they stay silent. 5/5
I want to add something: There are no men in comics who have a centimeter of the guts my sister has, walking up to Jim Lee and demanding answers. I doubt some of the men posting #ComicsPledge have ever even *thought* about doing something similar. Be like Sarah. Do better.
