Yet many still bind children in the name of God, I wonder how we’d feel if when we read the story of the binding of Isaac God offers an alternative and Abraham says thanks and then proceeds to sacrifice both his son and the sheep...
Or Abraham says no thanks, I don’t need the sheep, I’ve spent so much time binding the kid and getting this alter ready and goes ahead with the original intended sacrifice.
